In 2006 Studio Hope participated in the summer bridge program at Simon Perkins Middle School in Akron.   This program was part of Perkins Activities Central, funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.  The summer bridge program helps elementary school graduates prepare for the transition to middle school.

Studio Hope showed the students the basics of working in a home studio.  We provided pre-recorded accompaniments and challenged the students to write lyrics about important issues in their lives.  Most of them did.  You can hear a few of their compositions below and see some photos.
